The Momentum And Excitement In Growing The Cannabis Industry In New Jersey Is Strong

NJ Cannabis Insider hosted a one-day conference on March 10, 2020 at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison, New Jersey. The conference took a deep-dive into the current status of marijuana legalization in New Jersey. Medical marijuana advocates and upcoming entrepreneurs networked with industry leaders and up-and-coming businesses alike and shared their ideas and tools for launching and growing a successful business. The conference featured 20 Industry-expert panelists with keynote speakers such as New Jersey Department of Health Assistant Commissioner for Medical Marijuana Jeff Brown. Mr. Brown gave the morning keynote address and touched on subjects such as the skyrocketing increase in plant cultivation, pounds of cannabis and the growing number of patients. “It’s the most challenging job I’ve had and the most rewarding,” Brown describes during his speech.

George Irwin, President and CEO of Green Living Technologies International LLC (GLTI), was a featured panelist for the breakout session Banking on it: Deposits, Financing and Payroll Compliance. George has over 20 years of experience in the green field from vertical farming, green roofs and walls globally as well as hemp facilities/production in the state of New York and cannabis in Maine. He has revolutionized the cannabis industry with his companies Hope Holistic HealTHCare, VertiKal Technologies and GLTCannabis. Joining George on the panel were Teresa Kearney, PanaceaPayroll, Dominic DuCap, BCB Bank, and Harry Carpenter, Citrin Cooperman. The panelists were interviewed by Jonathan D. Salant, Washington correspondent of NJ Advance Media, NJ.com, and Newark Star Ledger. The practical advice and depth of knowledge given by George Irwin during the afternoon panel was one of the highlights and insights of the day that captivated the audience.

“Marijuana compliance is crucial as it ensures security” states George Irwin. “By security, we are talking about regulations that prevent adolescent use, similar to what is done with alcohol and tobacco. We also have the ability to be audited, which provides accountability. So when you start to break it down where we can be compliant, it adds safety to our entire industry” emphasized Irwin.
