Personal Connection to Cannabis

My son Addison has a passion for people and sees the good in everything. He is earnest, genuine and non-judgmental. In February 2016, he was at the pinnacle of his high school career, a highly decorated athlete, popular and well-liked among his peers and teachers. Having no other experience with Cannabis than his connection through his research, Addison made an impassioned TED X speech extolling its medical benefits in the “Dare to Defy” series. Seeing him speak about Cannabis in this video, you can see his passion, knowledge and enthusiasm.
Little did we know, one month later he would be diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and in desperate need of medical Cannabis himself. The picture on the left was taken while skiing in Banff Canada—three days before his diagnosis. My son was battling cancer his senior year of high school, this is not how it is supposed to happen. The Ted video is a lesson to us all, cancer has no bias.
